Our Cats

Carmen and Little

We had two wonderful felines who let us share their home with them. Unfortunately, we lost Carmen to a battle with lymphomic cancer and Little from complications due to feline heartworm. The following photos are from our time in Böhmfeld, Germany. The kitties really loved spending time on our balcony watching the world go by.

Here's our cat Little. She was the friendly, somewhat goofier cat of the two. She was pretty adept at sleeping, she quacked like a duck and liked to spend a lot of time on the balcony watching the world go by.

Little also liked to hang out in large piles of paper during our unpacking!

Carmen was our second cat and she was definitely the more reserved of the two, except when I gave her catnip. It took me longer to win over Carmen's heart than it did my wife's when I was courting her. She and Pam had quite a special bond together. Sadly, we lost Carmen in the February of 2000. Non-pet folks won't understand, but losing Carmen was like losing a child. We were lucky to have had her with us for so many wonderful years.

Fluff and Sir Ed

We went to the Farmer's Market in nearby Yellow Springs looking for onions, tomatoes, and squash. Somehow we ended up coming back with two kittens!

Fluff, named for his wongus fur, is a friendly little cuss who purrs if you just walk by him.

Sir Ed is named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mount Everest. Sir Ed is so named because he can be an absolute stinker who tries to climb every screen, curtain and piece of furniture in the house.

The two kitties get along just great. They should since they're siblings!
